While Sharpe Interior Systems, Inc. is recognized for being a premier metal stud and drywall company in Southern California, we are more than just drywall. Sharpe is a people-focused organization with a culture of giving back to our community. Every year, we partner with our clients and local charities to raise money, volunteer time and provide resources for the common good. At Sharpe, we understand that philanthropic support not only fosters strong client and employee bonds, but could change lives, families and communities. This is who we are and we know it is the right thing to do!

Sharpe’s list of charities is long and meaningful to all the people they serve. This year, we are adding one of our nations most recognized charitable organizations to the list, the “American Red Cross”.

The American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881. For over 139 years, the Red Cross has been dedicated to serving people in need. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day. Blood is essential for surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illness and traumatic injury. One donation can potentially save up to three lives. These statistics are very real and are a reminder of how important it is to support this cause.

This year, Sharpe has launched a campaign, SharpeSleevesUp, to support the American Red Cross with blood and cash donations. We are asking employees, and their family members to consider volunteering to make two blood donations in 2020. In turn, Sharpe Interior Systems, Inc. will donate $100 to the American Red Cross for every blood donation. We are hoping to reach a target of 800 blood donations and $80,000 in company contributions.

We realize this campaign is ambitious, so we plan to apply the same level of pride and teamwork like we do on all Sharpe projects. Last year, we took on a similar challenge, to help folks in our community who have been affected by HIV. With good planning and a passion to succeed, our company employees, their families, friends and industry partners rallied behind this cause and raised $90,000 for Aids LifeCycle adding to the grand total of $16.7 million dollars. In true Sharpe fashion, we aim to achieve the highest level in everything we do. Our collective effort to help our community by supporting the American Red Cross will save lives, and transform lives through education and the gift of doing something special for people in need.
