After almost a year, the Sharpe employees were back together for our 2nd Annual “Foremen of Sharpe Team Building Golf Tournament”. Seventy (70) participants joined us on Friday, April 28th for a day of golf with great weather, gift giveaways, food and drink, and most importantly, great camaraderie.  This year, we were excited to bring the tournament to Brookside Golf Club for the first time, just a chip shot away from The Rose Bowl in the city of Pasadena.  The morning began at check-in where participants were given a Sharpe-branded wristband that they would utilize throughout the day, a gift bag filled with golf balls, golf tees, divot fixer and baseball hat. Following check-in was a casual boxed-lunch and announcements by Keith Costanzo, Kenney Asmus and Angelo San Paolo prior to driving to our assigned holes.

The golf was a shotgun start with a scramble format which is utilized to encourage all skill level of golfer to participate and enjoy. What is a scramble you ask? All golfers tee off. The best of the tee shots is selected, and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed out.

Throughout the day, participants competed in a series of competitions for longest drive and closest to the pin as well as competing for first place overall team.  The day ended back where we started, near the check-in area, where prizes were handed out and all gathered to mingle and converse about their day. For many this was their first experience on a golf course. The conversations were entertaining, insightful and filled with smiles and laughter.

Thank you to the Foremen, Field Teams and Project Teams for the work you do every day. These events are made possible because of your collective efforts, keeping each other safe, maximizing production output, and delivering on our clients expectations. A special thank you to the Marketing Team and committee members who organized this event and to our Executive Committee for making this tournament possible.  We look forward to doing it again next year!
