Sharpe Interior Systems, Inc. is working with the CO Architects + Hensel Phelps Design/Build team to develop a new, world-class healthcare complex. The UCI Medical Center Irvine will offer transformative patient care and staff experiences on a sophisticated new campus adjacent to the San Joaquin Marsh. The project consists of four buildings including a hospital, ambulatory care center, central utility plant and an 8-story parking structure.
HOSPITAL: A new OSHPD-1 Acute Care Hospital that focuses on delivering key services in Neurosciences, Oncology, Spine, and Orthopedics. The facility includes patient service spaces for Surgical Intervention Procedures, Pre- and Post-Op Recovery, Acute Imaging, Clinical Pharmacy, Med-Surg and ICU Nursing Units, and basic Emergency Room with support spaces for Administration, Materials Management, Sterile Processing, Food Service Program, Biomedical, Facilities Engineering and Environmental Support Departments. The total building area of the hospital is 349,753 square-feet.
AMBULATORY CARE CENTER (ACC): A new OSHPD-3 Outpatient Clinic that focuses on delivering advanced Oncological Diagnostics and Treatment. The facility includes patient service spaces for Surgical Intervention Procedures, Pre- and Post-Op Recovery, Radiation Diagnostics and Treatment, Ambulatory Imaging, Infusion, Apheresis, Phlebotomy, a Breast Center, Clinical and Retail Pharmacies with support spaces for Administration, Collaborative Research, Materials Management and Delivery, Sterile Processing, and a Café. The multi-story building includes vehicular passenger drop-off/loading at the plaza level with additional drop-off and short-term parking on the garden level. The intended period of stay for each patient does not exceed 24 hours. The total building area of the ACC is 222,188 square-feet.
CENTRAL UTILITY PLANT (CUP): A new stand-alone Central Utility Plant (CUP) providing full utilities support to the adjacently Acute Care Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center. It includes enclosed spaces in two stories above grade plane plus a basement and below-grade utilities tunnel. MEP equipment is also located on uncovered rooftop areas. The total building area of the CUP is 31,848 square-feet.
